Make the Connection.

With Your Peers. With Yourself. With Your Recovery.

The Connection Project is the only Peer-Run, Non-profit organization located in Norfolk, Nebraska, and the Region IV Behavioral Health System. our mission is to walk with people with mental health and/or substance use challenges on a journey toward recovery and wellness. We do this by building mutual relationships based on peer support principles. All employees and the majority of our board members are fellow peers who have dealt with challenges in mental health and/or substance use.

Connection.

Connection is the invisible thread that weaves through the fabric of our existence. Connection is the recognition of our intrinsic humanity mirrored in the eyes of another. It is the profound realization that we are not alone in our journey through life, but rather part of a greater whole, interdependent, and interconnected.

In the embrace of genuine connection, we find solace in the warmth of companionship, courage in the face of adversity, and joy in the celebration of triumphs, both big and small. It is through connection that we discover our true selves, reflected in the mirror of another’s understanding and acceptance.

Connection demands vulnerability, openness, and empathy. It requires us to listen with both heart and mind, embracing the depths of another’s being while allowing them into ours. In a divided world, fostering genuine connections becomes a form of resistance, showcasing the strength of human unity. Through these bonds, we discover resilience and the ability to enact positive change within ourselves and our communities.

Ultimately, connection is the essence of humanity, reminding us of our interconnectedness and the power it holds to heal, inspire, and transform lives.
